Local Action places people and communities at the heart of development. By enabling local governments, civil society, community leaders and the private sector to shape priorities and deliver solutions, it strengthens local economies, improves service delivery, and builds resilient communities.

This Local Action Catalogue showcases UNDP's support for locally driven development across diverse contexts. It features initiatives implemented across regions since 2022, demonstrating how local solutions contribute to sustainable development outcomes. The collection covers thematic areas aligned with UNDP's 2026–2029 Strategic Plan, including its strategic objectives and accelerators.

The catalogue was compiled using data from the UNDP Transparency Portal, with AI tools supporting the identification and synthesis of relevant initiatives. Select entries were reviewed and curated by specialists; entries that are AI-generated or AI-assisted are clearly indicated. Additional information on all initiatives is available through the UNDP Transparency Portal.
